Twitter Challenges
The 2011 USC Homecoming Sponsors have generously donated items to be given away free to our Twitter followers through various challenges during the morning. Here's how to play:
- Follow us on Twitter
- Keep an eye out for tweets marked with #USCHomecoming
- Every 15 minutes (or so) during Homecoming, we will tweet a challenge
- The challenges will generally consist of, "Be the first person to [sponsor tent] to say [secret phrase] and receive [free gift]"... simple enough
- Then all you have to do is be the first one to complete the challenge and you win!
Here are the prizes you'll be competing for:
- Lane Kiffin signed t-shirt
- Free executive management course from USC Marshall Executive Education
- Weekend stay at the Westin Bonaventure
- Weekend Enterprise car rental
- Cookie Lee Jewelry
- Candy dispenser
- T-shirts
- Kukui nut necklaces
- ...and more!
SCVNGR Hunt
The scavenger hunt is for the more adventurous and social media savvy alum.
- We’ve given each of our sponsors a unique QR Code, which is on display at each of the sponsor tents along Trousdale and Childs Way.
- Download the SCVNGR mobile app and open it.
- Click on “places” then search “USC Homecoming”
- Click on that place to reveal the QR code challenges.
- Scan corresponding QR code for each challenge using the SCVNGR mobile app.
- Each code is worth 2 points — once you’ve earned 16 points, claim the reward by bringing your phone to the USCAA tent and showing us the "reward granted" screen (one prize per person).
It can all be a bit confusing (hooray, technology!). If you want to participate but still have questions on how to do it, contact us.
BuzzMob
As part of USC’s 2011 Homecoming, the USC Alumni Association is creating some major buzz. We’ve teamed up with BuzzMob, the location-based mobile platform that makes social media work for real world places and events. BuzzMob will allow smartphone users to connect with everyone live at the tailgate and the game — whether or not you're already "friends." Snap an awesome picture of Matt Barkley completing a 40 yard pass? Need a score update while stuck in line at the concession stand? Upload a photo, video, or status update to the official USC Homecoming Ring, and be automatically entered for your chance to win a beach cruiser bicycle! Download the iPhone app at buzzmob.com (Android users, go to buzzmob.com/USC on your mobile browser), and stay on top of all the Trojan action!
