USC Logomark

Los Angeles Frontrunners is a walking and running club for LGBT individuals and their friends in the greater Los Angeles area. In its 27th year, fun runs are held in Encino on Monday nights, in the Griffith Park/Silver Lake area on Tuesday nights, in Santa Monica on Wednesday nights, at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on Thursday nights, and at Griffith Park on Saturday mornings. Walkers and runners of all abilities are welcomed. In addition to fun runs, members also participate in local walks/races and the club hosts numerous social activities throughout the year.

Frontrunners is proud to have an affiliation with Lambda Alumni. Several Frontrunners members and former officers are Lambda members and have served on Lambda’s Board of Directors. In 2006 Frontrunners established the Don Thompson Scholarship in Cinema Arts through Lambda. This scholarship honors the late Don Thompson, long-time Frontrunner, past president, and head of the archives collection at the USC Cinema Library. Don’s passions were his beloved Trojans, cinematic arts, running, and the camaraderie that he so enjoyed through his associations with friends and colleagues at USC and Frontrunners. USC alumna and former Lambda co-President and Frontrunners President Amy Ross also endows a Lambda scholarship in lesbian health issues on the Health Sciences Campus.

Lambda will host a campus fun walk/run and continental breakfast reception in spring, 2008 to celebrate our special relationship with Frontrunners. Please plan to join us for this inaugural event as part of Lambda’s Lavender Graduation celebrations.

Lambda members run regularly with Frontrunners on Saturday mornings in Griffith Park. To learn more about Frontrunners, please visit their website: www.lafrontrunners.com
