USC Lambda Alumni launches new website, new membership drive
LOS ANGELES, Calif.--Jan. 25, 2006--DRAFT. Lambda Alumni, the officially-recognized alumni organization for gay & lesbian alumni of the Unviersity of Southern California and their allies, is pleased to announce the launch of their new, content-rich website today.
"The website aims to present Lambda's various interest areas and goals in a clear, easy-to-understand format," notes President-Elect, David Hildebrand.
The site was coded and developed by the Information Technology Services of USC, otherwise known as ITS.
"It was great to work with ITS. Samantha and her staff have done a tremendous job executing the design approved by the Board," adds Courtney Miller, Lambda President.
The site features information about all of Lambda's programs, as well as the ability to Join Lambda on-line without having to resort to a paper application. "This process will dramatically improve our ability to capture membership data, and do a better job keeping up with our members," notes Casey Heim, Lambda's Membership and Volunteer Coordinator.
The site also allows members to join Lambda's e-mail blast system powered by Constant Contact. "We explored multiple vendors, and felt that Constant Contact gave us the best balance of features and price," adds Mr. Heim.
The site also features the new brand identity for Lambda including new logos, color palette and styling treatments for the group's "Back to Lambda" campaign, a massive effort by the all-volunteer Board to restoke the coals and gather up member data. Dane Martens, Director of Design for USC Spectrum, designed and executed the new "Back to Lambda" logo and brand. (Quote from Dane).
