Since USC Lambda's founding in 1992, the key ingredient of our success has been the hard work of our volunteers. From reaching out to members and securing donations to organizing events and awarding scholarships, our dedicated volunteers make it all possible. Whether you’re a brand new member or a seasoned USC Lambda veteran, our committees are a great way to get involved, meet new people and play a role in the building of USC Lambda’s legacy. Communications & Outreach
Chairs – Matt Nocita & Michael Vacha Jr.
"The Communications Committee creates and delivers USC Lambda's brand and message. The committee keeps the association’s members informed of the notable achievements of their USC Lambda peers, and relays pertinent information about USC Lambda's current events. Through social networking and other new media, the committee plans to increase USC Lambda’s visibility in Southern California and reach out to LGBT Trojan alumni nationwide. Over the next year, the committee will develop and promote active representation among various age groups to broaden our base of loyal and active USC Lambda members."
Development
Chair – Erik Sanjurjo
"The Development Committee is charged with organizing fundraising events for the association and also seeking sponsorships and donations for USC Lambda priorities, such as our capital campaign for a new office, endowment of scholarships and general operating fund. Additionally, our committee works with notable alumni to organize at-home fundraisers as well as to follow up on any leads for possible corporate or foundation grants or awards."
Events
Chair – Suzy Jack
“Are you good at connecting people and resources to make things happen? Do you wake up at night with an idea for a perfect location for a mixer? Then the Events Committee needs you!! The Events Committee helps shape and execute all of USC Lambda's signature events, including the Scholarship Reception & Home-Coming Out Tailgate. But we also dream up new events, bring new ideas to our signature events, and coordinate programs in a variety of areas, from volunteer opportunities to career workshops! The sky is the limit! Scholarship
Chair – Chris Lane
“Since 1994, USC Lambda has proudly honored USC students with scholarship awards. Through annual donations and various endowments, USC Lambda awards students with scholarships in Cinematic Arts, Health, Education, Architecture, Business Administration and an Outstanding Achievement award for students in any discipline. As a member of the Scholarship Committee, you can have a hand in awarding scholarships to tomorrow’s LGBT Trojan leaders! And, with our innovative selection structure, you can participate from anywhere in the country. Additionally, our committee helps to get the word out to students about our awards and keeps the connections with winners of years past.
