Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is the #1 killer of high school student athletes in the U.S. Heartbeat of Champions Foundation (HOCF) teaches teens how to perform CPR and how to use an AED (automated external defibrillator). Teens are screened by family history, receive an EKG and an echocardiogram. SCA screenings can identify teens at risk. The benefit to the community is the more people who are educated to perform CPR, the greater the chance those affected will survive.
