
Miki Turner is an associate professor of professional practice at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, where she also received a graduate degree. In the 1990s, she became the first Black woman to write a regularly featured sports column for a major daily newspaper when she joined the Oakland Tribune. Turner later worked for such media outlets as ESPN and Jet magazine. In 2022, she was named the National Association of Black Journalists Educator of the Year.
