Human Spaceflight – Recent Past and Near Future
Featuring Professor Garrett Reisman
Join Dr. Garrett Reisman for an afternoon of adventure and discovery during your USC reunion program. As 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, Dr. Reisman will recount the real-life intrigue, dangers and constant excitement that were a daily part of his career in space.
Dr. Reisman was selected by NASA as a mission specialist astronaut in 1998. His first mission was aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour, in 2008, which dropped him off for a 95-day mission aboard the International Space Station after which he returned to Earth aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery.
Currently he is a professor of astronautical engineering at USC, and he continues his work at SpaceX as a senior advisor.
