Executive Director, Lambda LGBTQ+ Alumni Association
Brandon Kyle was named executive director of the USC Lambda LGBTQ+ Alumni Association on July 11, 2022. He brings more than 10 years of experience in alumni relations, development and nonprofit management to the position, as well as a keen understanding of USC Lambda’s priorities and traditions. Prior to joining USC Lambda in an official capacity, Kyle served on its board of directors for three years, most recently as board president.
While on the board, Kyle played an instrumental role in several projects, including the 2022 scholarship gala, “House of Lambda: Past, Present & Future,” which honored four outstanding LGBTQ+ alumni and helped to raise additional funding to support student scholarships. He also worked closely with fellow board officers and senior USC Alumni Association staff to recruit 10 new board members, and helped fortify many of USC Lambda’s relationships with groups on and off campus.
As USC Lambda’s executive director, Kyle will focus much of his energy and expertise on raising more than $1 million in scholarship assistance for deserving LGBTQ+ and allied students in perpetuity. Another top priority is expanding programming in order to connect with more alumni and supporters.
Kyle previously served as executive director of alumni & family engagement and annual giving at Pitzer College in Claremont, California. He has also led programs at several California higher education institutions and nonprofits, including Pomona College, UC Irvine, the March of Dimes Foundation and PBS-KCET.
Kyle earned a BA in journalism and media studies from San Diego State University, a master’s in public administration and nonprofit management from California State University, Northridge, and a doctorate in organizational change leadership from the USC Rossier School of Education.
