The Alumni Engagement committee collaborates with USC BAA staff to develop and implement strategies for engaging with and learning from the alumni community. The committee facilitates opportunities for virtual and in-person engagement within the alumni community and between alumni, faculty, staff, students, and community members.

The members of the communications committee assist the USC BAA and Executive Director sharing in communication with alumni, students and the broader USC community regarding BAA news, programs and issues. The committee assist in management of social media platforms and contributions to the BAA newsletter.

The Events committee works closely with USC BAA staff liaison and event lead to assist with planning and executing programs throughout the year. This committee ensures BAA maintains a robust and diverse programming calendar to engage new and reengage former USC Black Trojans.

The USC BAA Retention and Recruitment Committee works as an outreach partner with the USC Office of Admissions. Every fall, the committee hosts the Welcome Pinning and Affirmation Ceremony. Committee members also participate in high school and community college fairs throughout the year. In addition, the committee participates in the annual USC Black Graduation Ceremony every May.

The USC BAA Scholarship Committee typically receives more than 500 applications every year. Working in teams, committee members evaluate these applications and conduct interviews with students. No prior experience is required to be a part of the evaluation teams—simply a commitment to the volunteer and scholarship process. The majority of the committee work is conducted over two weeks in late February and early March.
