Adelaida Velasco Severson

Adelaida Velasco Severson is the president, CEO and co-founder of Bushtex, Inc., a satellite communications firm specializing in remote broadcast transmissions worldwide. Since its founding in 1994, the company’s sales and visibility have grown dramatically, due in large part to Severson, who became more involved with its marketing and operations in 2003. Today, Bushtex customers range from television networks that need to broadcast sporting and news events from around the world, to corporations wanting to set up teleconferences, to government agencies that need to communicate via satellite. In recognition of her accomplishments, Ernst & Young named Severson an Entrepreneur of the Year® 2022 Pacific Southwest Award winner. She earned dual degrees from the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences and the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
