Class of 1998

Dear Fellow Trojan,

Can you believe it’s been 20 years since our graduation from USC? This calls for a celebration! On behalf of the Class of 1998, we are thrilled to invite you to join us for our upcoming 20th Class Reunion on November 9-10, 2018.

A lot has changed in the world since we walked the halls of Troy. But this fall, let’s take a walk down memory lane.

Do you recall registering for classes using a land-line phone? Do you remember using microfilm at Doheny Library? Do you have memories of huddling around the dorm television to watch Friends, then spending all night at the new Leavey Library computer lab? How was it possible that we met our classmates at the Student Union (or anywhere) without using a cell phone?

By the time we graduated, we had witnessed some exciting events both on and off campus: at USC, the football team won a Rose Bowl victory over Northwestern, and Jamba Juice and Starbucks were added to Café 84. Beyond Troy, Nelson Mandela became president of South Africa, and Diana, Princess of Wales, met a tragic end. Pulp Fiction and Lion King premiered to the world, and we couldn’t wait to get copies of them on VHS! Cellphones were suddenly becoming ubiquitous, and DVDs were a thing.

Twenty years is certainly something to commemorate! That’s why the USC Alumni Association is planning a fun-filled program for Reunion Weekend 2018, including campus tours, school visits, faculty and alumni spotlights, an elegant dinner and plenty of time to celebrate with old friends and make new ones—plus all the excitement of USC Homecoming and football (USC vs. Cal). It promises to be two unforgettable days of all things USC!

Finally, as a show of support for the next generation of Trojans, please consider making a gift to any school or program at USC in honor of your special reunion. And join our Class of 1998 Facebook group to share photos and memories and connect with classmates before, during and after the festivities.

We hope to see you in November, and be sure to tell your fellow Class of ’98 Trojans to join us as well!

Fight On!
