Society 53

History

Named in honor of the 53 students who formed USC’s first student body in 1880, Society 53 was launched November 5, 2008, at the Widney Alumni House, where those first students attended classes more than 135 years ago.

Purpose

Society 53 is the governing and programming board of SAS, responsible for events that bring current students and alumni together. Members of Society 53 also serve as USCAA student ambassadors and attend signature alumni events throughout the year.

Apply

Membership is by application only and is limited to SAS members. Applications go live in early spring! Check back here for more information.

Trojan SCuppers

Trojan SCuppers provide many great opportunities for students, alumni, parents and friends to connect, share stories and celebrate USC’s traditions and its transformation into a world-renowned private research institution. Alumni SCupper hosts provide dinner for 10-12 current USC students in local restaurants, campus locations or other creative spaces.

Networking Nights

Networking Nights are a fun and exciting way for students to practice valuable networking skills, in person, with alumni leaders from a variety of industries. These skills and contacts are of great value to those seeking to refine their personal brands and build a list of professional references.

Life Workshops

These workshops focus on presenting about topics and trends that interest current students. They offer a great opportunity for students: to learn how to get into working various fields; to proactively prepare for finding the right job while still in school; and to achieve work-life balance.

Grad Week in Collaboration with USC Campus Activities

Come together as we celebrate USC’s graduating students. Each spring, the USC Alumni Association and USC Campus Activities host and staff the biggest graduation party on campus. Enjoy free food, entertainment and giveaways with more than 1,000 of your fellow soon-to-be graduates and alumni guests.

Networking with Alumni

Connect with alumni on The Trojan Network based on industry or geographic location. You can gain valuable career advice specific to your field, or find a mentor and build your professional network.
